Have you read about Freedom and Truth?     Are you reading from the beginning?

Everything Begins in MIND

First cause is invisible. As such, every problem (as well as every blessing) has its cause in the invisible.

Go to the Root

If we wanna get free, in order to fix a problem and heal our lives, we have to go to the root or the cause and fix the cause. If we want weeds out of our garden, we need to pull them up from the root. All else is just a band-aid. It’s a quick fix like sweeping dirt under the carpet, but it never really solves the problem; therefore the true problem never really goes away. It just becomes more tolerable for the moment.

For instance, when doctors remove cancerous cells, they are trying to remove the cause of the sick condition, and if they are successful, then in a sense, yes, they are removing the cause – the physical cause. But although they may heal the person for the moment, in many cases, we hear that the condition comes back again later. Why? Because they have not removed the root cause, which is energetic.

Similarly when someone, a co-worker, boss or relationship partner causes us much distress – I mean they are just a thorn in our side – and we resent them, sure we can leave the job or leave them in search of calmer waters, and sometimes this may be necessary. But many people often find that the new job, which was supposed to be the answer, or the new mate who was “so perfect”, eventually begins to reflect the same types of issues back to them.

So until the actual root cause of the problem within is resolved or removed, all we have done was change the form (and perhaps intensity) in which the problem manifests, to one that may be more tolerable for a while.

First Cause

Everything begins in the mind.

“In the beginning was the word. And the word was with God, and the word was God.” (John 1:1)

And we know that God is spirit. So the word is spirit. If we could just stop right there… Wow!

God (first cause) created from Him/Her/Itself, for there was none else. God created from the Spirit of God’s Mind. What is in the mind? Thought. What a is thought? A pre-verbal word. An unspoken, un-manifested WORD. The spirit of God “moved” (was active) upon the face of the waters (the deep substance from which things are formed), and then “said” (spoke forth the form of the things of his/her/its mind). (Genesis 1:1-3)

(I say that water is the substance from which things are formed [or brought "into formation"] because the continents rose up out of the deep water, and because it is a known fact that our bodies are made up mostly of water.)

Anyway, God’s spirit moved, or was “moved” – that’s thought energy in motion, and he spoke according to what he believed/felt. When he “affirmed” what he believed and felt, in so doing, he brought it forth, and all that he said, became so. We are made in the likeness of God. We are infinite Spirit, apparently trapped, so to speak, in finite bodies. So too, does our consciousness create.

Thoughts are Things

Thoughts are things. They are the energy behind things. Our emotions are the result of our interpretations of what we think, or how we perceive, how we think about things – what we believe about things.

E-motion is energy in motion. The atom is a unit of energy. We know that everything has a chemical composition comprised of different molecular configurations, and whatever the nature of a thing, it can be manifested in solid (ice), liquid (water), or gaseous (vapor) forms. But energy begins in the formless and hardens into form. Even so, energy begins with our beliefs and thoughts, moves through emotions and hardens into the manifestations of the events of our lives.

God is Love. Life is perfect, harmonious, abundant, creative, productive energy. Each thought is a lens through which this energy passes and is interpreted. Thoughts pass to and fro. They permeate the “atom”-sphere. If we catch a thought, and dwell on the thought, and feel something about the thought, we are giving motion to the energy of that thought. We are having e-motions or energy in motion within ourselves.

Beliefs Determine Experiences

We are catching passing thoughts and activating them within our own experience of life. We don’t even necessarily have to dwell on thoughts to give them entrance into our lives. Some beliefs are embedded deep in our consciousness, have been there since childhood, and are subconsciously running our lives. It’s subtle, but to be sure what we believe on whatever level, we will manifest (on whatever level or to whatever degree). And if we dwell on something, it is magnified.

Have you ever felt someone’s presence? When some people come around you, have you felt a depressing atmosphere? Then when other people enter a room or speak, there’s this heightened atmosphere, or they seem to possess a “glow”? That’s the effect of their energy in motion creating their aura or their “atom”-sphere.

Our deeply-held beliefs (conscious or otherwise) determine the thoughts that we think, and therefore the emotions that we feel and embody in every form of our lives and affairs. One person experiences something one way; another has a completely different view and therefore experience of the same event. Our experience of our lives and affairs has to come from somewhere. We attract what we think about and/or believe. Can our experience truly come from anywhere but somewhere inside of us? We are the only constant everywhere we go.

“…The curse causeless shall not come.” (Proverbs 26:2)

So when we have out-of-order or mal(bad)-functioning beliefs and therefore faulty thoughts and negative emotions (some repressed) running around in our subconscious minds, and some even spoken by our conscious and unconscious minds, our undisciplined thoughts harden into dis-order and dis-ease in our lives.

Any external inharmony or discord is the result of some internal or mental/spiritual inharmony. And mental/spiritual inharmony is only the result of a lack of knowledge.

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” (Hosea 4:6)

An Inside Job

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, EVEN AS THY SOUL prospereth.” (3 John 2)

So getting free and healing any situation in our lives is an inside job. That’s a hard truth to swallow sometimes, because when it really comes down to it, there’s no one “out there” to blame. And it can be hard to think that we’d bring certain things on ourselves.

But we don’t really need to blame anyone. (It’s the way of this world to have self-limiting beliefs, negative thoughts and fear. Much of it has been due to our conditioning and has not been conscious.) We project and blame because we don’t know the Truth, and because subconsciously we can’t stand to bear shame and guilt. …but we don’t need to carry shame and guilt. Forgiveness is there for us. Learn to let it go.

So WHAT if it’s the way of this world in this age that we’re living in. Romans 12:2 tells us to:

“Be not conformed to [with the form of] this world [the things of this age/time], but be transformed [change the form of your entire being/life] by the renewing of your mind.”

There’s no shame in messing up or not being fully developed. As far as spiritual things are concerned, that’s a human trait. The only shame would be in wanting to stay messed up and not wanting to progress. But even that can be forgiven and redeemed if one changes one’s mind.

(And as far as being human beings with various issues [for some, even including what are called "personality disorders"] is concerned, there’s no shame in having been improperly conditioned or even in being only partially developed – only in choosing to stay there.)

Another reason this whole “inside job” idea can be quite challenging (and we may feel helpless at times) is that now we have to learn to depend on God within ourselves, not somebody “out there” to fix it for us. It’s a lesson in responsibility. But God IS still right here within us to work through us if we will acknowledge and honor him/her/it there. Actually, this means real freedom for us. Why? Because we no longer have to be victims… because if the cause originates with us, this would imply that we are not truly helpless. There is something that we can do about it.

It is the perfect will of God for each and every one of us to be whole, harmonious and complete. But most of us aren’t even aligned with God’s perfect will anyway (even many of us who want to be). So it’s not even a question of “if God wills for me to be whole”. Wholeness is God. It is the offspring/creation and plan of God, and it is the purpose of God. And we are created in the very Image and likeness of God. It is our Spiritual Nature to be whole and complete. It’s the flesh/ego/lower self that gets it all mixed up, but we were created for freedom and wholeness.

Nevertheless, it is an inside job to bring our beliefs, will and thoughts, and consequently emotions, actions and lives into alignment with the Truth. That’s where the big “R” word comes in. That is our Responsibility. There’s no getting around it.

Sons of God

According to the Bible, God has already given us everything that pertains to life and godliness (the essence of all that is God). (1 Peter 1:3) It is written that when Jesus died he said, “It is finished.” (John 19:30) And after he was resurrected, he said “All power is given unto me in heaven and on earth.” (Matthew 28:18) He had finally demonstrated the whole manifestation of Divinity for us – that even death had no power over him. Prior to this, he had also told us we could do the same works he did, and greater works if we believed on him. (John 14:12)

So apparently God has done all he can rightfully do, without violating our sovereign right to choose our way, which would be against his nature to do (and he can’t work against himself). He’s just patiently waiting for us to wake up and consciously “choose to come home”. We now need to lay hold of that which is already laid up for us as the offspring of God.

If we are God’s offspring, can we truly be anything other than what he is?

Is it not written that we are gods? (Psalms 82:5-7; John 10:33-36)

All things divine are ours, laid up in the consciousness in which Christ Jesus walked. (1 Corinthians 3:21)

Through the spirit of Christ, we can enter into the promises laid up for us as divine heirs. (Galatians 3:29; Romans 8:13-21)

We need to turn from and forget all the Self-limiting beliefs, thoughts, emotions and deeds of the past, and press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God (that is where?) in Christ. (Philippians 3:12-14)

NOW FAITH is the SUBSTANCE of things hoped for, the EVIDENCE of things not seen… Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” (Hebrews 11:1,3)

Knowing the Truth

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth [that you know] shall make you free.” (John 8:32)

Until we have a firm knowledge of steady continuous truth within, all the while that lies are operating around us, everything we want to heal or manifest can only be done to us “according to our faith” (Matthew 9:29).

So what do we believe? Do we believe the sickness or situation that we see? Or can we “walk by faith and not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7)? Can we sit there in the face of all the mess, and be Spirit looking out THROUGH our eyes at the life we’ve created, and say and know:

“Yes, yes, my eyes see it, but no that’s not real. It has no foundation in Truth. I don’t accept that. I deny the reality of it. That’s not the Truth. That’s not the Truth of God, so that’s not the Truth of me. That’s not the truth of me or anything in life. That’s not what God says or does in his purest form. It’s not manifesting the harmony God created…

Forgiveness

…What I’m looking at here on the screen of my life is just the result of some erroneous beliefs and thoughts – my inharmonious feelings and unconscious beliefs. But I now change that. I now choose to forgive everyone I’ve been holding inharmonious feelings towards. In that forgiving, I also choose to see the event a different way. In doing so, I am releasing negative emotional energy from within me…

(Author Colin Tipping calls this Radical Forgiveness)

…I choose to see the Truth of God, which not all seem to be manifesting, but it is the Truth of who we all are. All is well. I salute Christ in that person, the Divinity of that person, the perfect sense of that person which is only not appearing to me because of erroneous/inharmonious beliefs that I have allowed myself to hold within myself and/or about the situation…

Reclaiming Our Power

…I am not a victim. How another chooses to manifest does not deplete the Life and working of God in me and my life. I refuse to be taken in by the illusion. Only my own beliefs and thoughts can victimize me. I cast down and release the lie.

So I bless him/her and release him/her to his God. I choose light, love and harmlessness in thought as well as deed. In doing so, I now release that inharmonious emotional energy and get my own release. I acknowledge and receive harmony in my life, because all of God’s life energy is whole and perfect and flowing through us now, as God himself saw it – GOOD…

The Truth of You

…I am who God says I AM – nothing more and nothing less than perfect, whole, complete love, joy, peace, harmony and perfect self-expression. God created me by his very own breath that I AM, so I AM the Self-Ex-Pressed image of His person…

(Author Ernest Holmes refers to This Thing Called You)

…The Absolute Unseen Truth of me is that I AM God PRESSED-OUT into form, therefore the Truth of me and of my life is that THERE CAN BE NO INHARMONY, DISCORD, LACK OR ILLNESS. And I choose to align my belief, my reality, my thoughts with God’s Truth, and let His Truth permeate my entire life.”

The Light of Truth

“In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended [apprehend, attain, come upon, find, obtain, perceive, overtake] it not.” (John 1:4-5)

So what we want to do is shine the bright light of Truth into the dark places of our minds, and the vermin will scatter. There can be no darkness once the light of Truth shines in. (But how bright it is depends on how much light is allowed in.)

Moreover, when we begin to MERGE in consciousness with that Light that lights the whole world, then it’s no longer a matter of that light shining IN. We have then understood that we are One with that Light, and our lives manifest accordingly. We become the light of our world, lighting up whatever darkness was appearing.

God is One

Where we as humans get messed up is in the belief in two powers, Good and evil (partaking of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and evil, rather than of the Tree of Life which is in the center of the garden). (Genesis 2:9, 15-17)

God created, and called it all Good, but with our belief in two powers comes distorted thinking, fear, shame, guilt, and therefore every sort of inharmony, which grows like a seed and sprouts all manner of dis-ease (anything that is not at ease in our lives). (Genesis 3)

But the Bible indicates that God is One. (Deuteronomy 6:4)

“Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the Lord he is God; there is none else [no other] beside [next to, outside of] him.” (Deuteronomy 4:35)

“Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.” (Isaiah 45:22)

In other words, the I AM of God (His essence – His substance – His nature – His consciousness) is all-encompassing Oneness/God/Divine Spirit. The I AM of God is all there TRULY is… “who was from the beginning, is now and ever shall be”. If there is “no other”, and there is “nothing else”, then what “ELSE” or “other” can we be? And in “Truth”, what else truly “exists” but harmony (oneness), peace and ever-potent vitality (the energy of abundant life)?

Renewing the Mind

But will we believe it? I mean truly believe it, to the point of really understanding what that means and embodying it? That’s the challenge. Because according to our faith, or whatever we believe and assert as our truth, that is what we’ll have and continue to have. We can be of God believing in evil or otherness, and therefore creating “otherness” in our world.

But someone may say, “But I believe in God”. Sure, anyone can believe in God. The Bible tells us “even demons believe, and tremble.” But what we really need, in being and believing IN him, is to believe AS him. And God does not believe in other than GodSelf/Divine Good. Jesus knew he was one with the father/source/creator. (John 10:30) He did not claim an identity separate from the father. He did not claim separation or identify with his ego. He was yielded to Divine Spirit. If we want to believe the Truth, to actually know it, we need to brain-wash ourselves (wash our minds) back into believing it. The scripture speaks of “the washing of water by the word”. (Ephesians 5:26)

The scripture says:

“Be not conformed to [with the form of] this world [the things of this age/time], but be transformed [change the form of your entire being/life] by the renewing of your mind [make your mind new again to who you are in untarnished timelessness].” (Romans 12:2)

Affirmations and Meditation

We do this by discovering the Truth, and by prayer and af-firm-ations (making firm that which exists without form), which can lead one to contemplation, meditation and divine real-ization.

Our subconscious beliefs need to be changed. Changing our conscious mind once doesn’t do much. If we left it at that, not much would likely happen. It generally tends to take most people (possibly with the exception of small children, who are teachable – Matthew 18:3-4) a long time to get it to the subconscious mind, and if we’re not always conscious, we can always slip back into unconscious ways of thinking when we’re looking at our circumstances.

It has, however, been said that repetition is the mother of learning, so when we repeat a truth, continually contemplating it and feeling it, it moves into the subconscious belief system to take root faster. Then Life moving through our subconscious mind will produce for us good fruit of that good seed, as opposed to producing fruit from the corrupt seeds of faulty thought-forms we harbored before.

(Catherine Ponder teaches The Dynamic Laws of Prayer – the victorious application of many types of prayer, affirmation and meditation.)

The Mind of Christ

Could not then knowing the Truth, clearing the path for core Divinity to flow, and resting in Divinity be likened to having the mind of Christ?

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ…”
(2 Corinthians 5:17-18)

Walk in It

The Bible also says that faith without works is dead being alone (James 2:17), so we integrate our faith into our being and our experience by our actions (James 1:22-25). This is how we anchor truth in our lives. This is how we build character and truly transform our lives and experience. We become more integrated and stronger, with greater integrity, because now we’ve got a more integrated understanding to stand on.

And don’t worry if you don’t get everything right. That’s what forgiveness and grace are for. Surrender. Let God in Christ flow through you. Trust in Him. Rest in His Love.

Peace and Blessings.
